I’m happy to be part again of the Tech Field Day delegates attending Networking Field Day 31 on April 12-13, 2023.
Due to Covid restrictions NFD23 as many other events is remote.
As a delegate it is my duty to adjust the quality of my home studio to the standards that viewers of Tech Field Day events expect.
Second day of NFD23 with Arista . I already had an opportunity to see Arista ad NFD16 in 2017 .
The third presenter of the second day of NFD23 is Juniper Networks . I’m curious to see how Juniper integrated the MIST features across their portfolio.
PathSolutions show how they think network monitoring should work presenting TotalView at NFD23 .

NFD23 kicks off with IPFabric .
The presentation performed by the CEO Pavel Bykov, CEO and Co-Founder and Daren Fulwell, Product Evangelist was on point to share the mission of IPFabric and some of its most impressive features.
Day two of NFD16 with Cisco. The presentation was split in two parts. First part for Intersight , second part for Tetration .
I’ll post here just a few thoughts about Intersight .
Merakify all the servers! What’s Cisco Intersight? If you’re familiar with cloud-managed devices like Meraki the concept is quite similar.
A Cisco server runs the Device Connector client that links to a central management portal that runs on Cisco DC SaaS.
Day two of NFD16 started with Apstra and their intent-based networking system.
Intent concept is not as broad as SDN but still vendors have different views of this meaning.
According to Apstra an intent is “the definition of the expected outcome”. The sum of the intents of a network is the source of truth.
Read Sasha Ratkovic blog post about the definition of Intent Based Networking. The checklist he suggest can be very useful to compare different solutions and spot intent washing strategies .

EOS Programmability Ken Duda (Founder, CTO, and Senior VP of Software Engineering) did a great session about EOS programmability explaining the reason of some technical choices and the available options.
